Mud season ideas
Some trails get closed or muddy in shoulder seasons. For example, COTREX lists part of Spring Creek with seasonal access dates (COTREX), and the Fish Creek Falls bridge has an annual closure through July 1 (USFS).
- Fish Creek Falls overlook — short, accessible, open year-round (USFS).
- Strawberry Park Hot Springs — open 365 days (official); 4WD rules apply until May 1.
- Check the city trails map for open/closed status before hiking.
Tip: if a trail is muddy, turning back avoids widening and damaging it.
